What is Direct Primary Care?

A Smarter Approach to Primary Care in Salt Lake County.

Why choose Direct Primary Care (DPC)? DPC is a healthcare model designed to put patients—not insurance companies—at the center of care.

Instead of billing insurance for every visit, DPC uses a flat monthly membership that covers most primary care services.

The result is simpler access, clearer costs, and a stronger relationship with your doctor.

The DPC Advantage.

More Time. Better Care.

In Direct Primary Care, doctors care for fewer patients. That means more time during visits, more availability between visits, and care that’s proactive instead of rushed.

Your doctor gets to know you—your health history, your concerns, and your goals. That relationship leads to more thoughtful, comprehensive care and better long-term outcomes.

The Traditional Primary Care Experience:

Many patients are familiar with the frustrations of traditional, insurance-based care:

Rushed Appointments
High patient volumes often limit visits to 10–15 minutes.

Insurance Barriers
Copays, deductibles, approvals, and coverage rules can delay or limit care.

Limited Accessibility
Appointments may take weeks, and direct communication with your doctor is rare.

Volume Over Personalization
The system rewards seeing more patients, not providing better care.

Unpredictable Costs
Even with insurance, medical bills can be confusing and unexpected.

  • Absolutely. Many of our patients have insurance or Medicare and use their DPC membership for everyday primary care.
